in pertinence to flares
.02

i have absolutely no clue why if you can fit the wheels inside the fenders on your car you don't.

i'm making really ghetto flares, but now i have a question, could flares be exempt from the $500 rule? I think it would encourage more teams to cover up a little better.

Big shame on that Cheating Miata for fender slamming the Escort into the Gremlin.
How'd you like to have been in the driver seat of the Gremlin when that Escort flew
right up past your head.   WOW

This goes into the top 5 Roll overs!!!!!

Cheating miata. You have to be kidding. Our fastest lap was a 2.06. Not even top 20 fastest by any means. As the chief perpetrator(Jay)put it and I quote " it's the only miata I've ever seen with body roll" so before you call us cheaters look at the facts. Hell I  think the festivus had a faster lap than us. Lol but true

Wider stance equals better weight distrubution through turns... Ask the VW guys how their narrow stance ailes them.

Cheat cheat cheat.............

Maybe if your driver would lighten up on the door slamming an drove better then your times would come down.
Miatas are little race cars from the factory.  Unless you had catastrophic engine failure I'm not buyin.

Remember, this is all tongue in cheek, don't take everything so serious and you will have a blast.  Plus, if you bring a Miata to a Lemons Race, prepare for accusations.

i'm making really ghetto flares, but now i have a question, could flares be exempt from the $500 rule? I think it would encourage more teams to cover up a little better.

If your wheels are sticking out past your fenders, then you're making mods for speed, not safety. Kinda like how I'd like to run an Optima battery in the cockpit for safety. I can be just as safe by keeping a crappy battery out under the hood and forgo trying for better weight distribution. You can just as well run narrower tires.

I disagree, if you look at the escort photos, the Offset on the rims are wrong.
If they wanted wider tires they could of done so by filling the wheel wells. Getting the proper rims would of been a good start. If I recall they had steel wheels from the places that make wheels for the  oval car racers. These companies offer offset wheels at 25, 50 or 75%. so they could of made it right.
Now running wheels that have the wrong offset to get a wider stance for cornering. Not really important if the car has sway bars and struts. Im guessing this car had these things or the body would of hit the tires due to body roll. Either way, lesson learned for the next race.

Yup 3...take a wild guess as to what our theme is gonna be.
We might have two cars if I can get the Jensen Healey up and about.  We should have the grill again so it'll be party time again.  As for the brakes, front discs are already on the way.

Wow, that roll, or flip, or whatever, launch, happened quick. I'm trying to imagine what the driver was thinking when he was suddenly looking down, out his side window, at the Miata.

Wish I knew too... we gave the tetanusNeon footage to Judge Murilee and to (I thought) one of your Gremlin teammates. Guess I should learn how to put in a watermark if we're ever again the lucky ones with dramatic footage.

What I remember seeing, since I was looking more right than our camera, is the Gremlin up on its front wheels.  The Gremlin footage doesn't seem to support my memories, but memory is highly subjective.

It's a cool compilation, but I wish we were smart enough to make a watermark.  Oh well!  I just want the web traffic.  smile
