The traditional Jalopnik standings post is now up. If your car managed to heave its carcass onto the track at MSR last weekend, there's a photo of it.

Re: The Top 122 Lemons of the 2010 Gator-O-Rama

Yaa  we were the highest ranked E30  at 20th place.  See the E30s are not ringer cars.. A  E21  and a 2002 and a E36 all finished higher,  Im happy to see a 2002 - 1602..  do so well.

Forgot to mention: as always, I've got all the full-res, uncropped shots of everyone's car. Email me if you want 'em. This applies to past races as well.

The 1600 #14 is driven by some excellant racers. along with the Blue Balls Neon, and the 145 Integra and Team JB Weld, and the Rabbit 22 and the J30 #80, all fast guys/gals.

Re: The Top 122 Lemons of the 2010 Gator-O-Rama

Note that the Top Three are all Detroit cars, one apiece from each of the Big Three. USA! USA! USA! USA!

They're also front-wheel-drive cars, which proves how far the Communists have infiltrated Detroit.

Those that actually made an effort in their theme were outstanding. The "Operation" car looks fun as hell. I want to play! Tell me it honks the horn too.

However, it seems like such efforts are getting few and far between lately. Maybe it's just me.

Yea the 1602 drivers and the Pontiac drivers were at the same hotel as us. We chatted with them at breakfast, great guys. They had alot of hint to offer about the track, so we guessed they knew the track very well. I tried to stay out of their way when I was driving, since I knew they were in the top 10.

Thanks for getting the gallery up.  It's awesome as usual.

Regarding themes:

Some of my favorite cars haven't changed their theme since their first entry - the BMW Powered by Peace and Bullets comes to mind, as does the Baja Bug.  Both of these cars are awesome enough that I want to see what theme they would come up with next.  Don't get me wrong, both of these cars have *awesome* themes as is.  I don't mean to insult or flame or whatever.  However, I wish folks would retheme stuff just to keep it interesting.  That said, our team will be guilty of some theme laziness this year - we're not retheming the car between Gator-O-Rama and Cain't Get Bayou.  We will have a different theme between the first and second Houston races.

It was a great race, and I'll see y'all in Louisiana.

Re: The Top 122 Lemons of the 2010 Gator-O-Rama

As much admiration as our theme gets, we've got something in store for the Fall race at MSRH.

I'm a little worried about changing it, but if a certain Ford Prefect takes up the HGTTG mantle, I'll feel better about it.

That Metro had a Suzuki Swift GT engine and was actually pretty quick... until it blew the engine and the transmission (after engine #2 was swapped in). They won Heroic Fix.
