Topic: Upgrading to big brakes for cheap

Finally posted the edited video of the big brake upgrade for the mx-3.
I upgraded the small single piston caliper and 10 inch rotor with
a 11.6 inch rotor from a Mini Cooper S, and aluminum dual piston calipers from a 99-04 Mustang.
Cost about $100-200 or so, and makes a huge difference in braking and pad wear.

For Hondas there is a very similar upgrade, use 2008 Mini Cooper non S rotors that are 280mm with calipers from a 98 Integra Type R and you get a bolt on 11" big brake setup. It stops our 2200lb Civic in a big hurry!

hmm...I wonder if this would work for my 1987 Honda Prelude...that I swapped 1988-1989 Honda Accord LxI  knuckle, axle, brakes into...cuz the hub with the wheel kept breaking off....
Although seems like it has 10.3 cm rotors....probably good enough...but maybe need better calipers ?
Oy, I can't wait till Thompson...but still so much left to do...
