Topic: the "new" Benz, 67 200

picked this up yesterday, theme yet undecided. it is a 67 200 with a 4 banger and a manual, not sure of how many gears.  runs (poorly), need a slave cylinder and possably a few syncros in the tranny.

Think for the first time out keeping it BONE STOCk with full interior and just safty items, hub caps and all.

theme sugestions?  Thinking something east german secret police.

I like the IP so futuristic. Then that horn ring is so old school. Nice car.

Instant Lemons Legend!

Re: the "new" Benz, 67 200

Nice price.

It's not my favorite body style of that vintage, but it's pretty darn good. I always like that the body-colored hubcaps haven't been replaced with alloy rims.

can I pass tech with the factory seats?

No, but you might be able to re-skin race seats with the leather from the factory seats.

A good theme might be, "I was a Swizz ski instructor."

Failing that, Dr. Strangelove!

Or, How I learned to stop worrying and love the Judges

"This is the scene where I get shot," Bronson said. "I have these little squibs that explode to make it look like bullets are hitting." "Fascinating," said Bergman. "I never knew how they did that." "You mean," asked Bronson, "you don't use machine guns in your movies?"

Beautiful car.  I'd love to have one as a daily driver, only with a reliable and powerful engine, breaks, etc.

Re: the "new" Benz, 67 200

Absolutely spectacular.  I would totally rock that thing, whether as a Lemons car or a daily driver.  If it's a manual, it's a four-speed.  I'm impressed by the floor shifter-- most of these cars had column shifters.

Judge Ed's immortal Field Find '65 190 was (and is) completely stock except for the cage and gutted interior.  It was slow, but it was still absolutely epic.  And it was pretty reliable (as far as I know) until it blew a head gasket after 40 years and three Lemons races.
