Topic: ISO Lemon, low budget. WA State.

Hello! New team to Lemons racing, looking for a car $500 or less. Looking for a ford or honda, but beggers can’t be choosers! Let me know if this post isn’t allowed here. Thanks!

Re: ISO Lemon, low budget. WA State.

Welcome! I suggest as a starting point reading the "stickies" in the Lemons Newcomers section; and previous listings in this section will have discussions about vehicle budget.

In short: build what you want; anything paid above budget may result in penalty laps (with exceptions like I.O.E. contenders, etc.) but you'll still get to race.

I was just wondering if this was the right place to look for someone selling a car, if it’s not I’ll take the post down. Thanks!

Your post is fine as far as I know.  Cars that are ready to race will typically be much more than $500.  The $500 budget number is before installation of budget exempt items such as cage, fire suppression, race seat, etc.

Good luck in your search.

Agreed, your post is fine; I was pointing you to additional information which will answer many of your next questions. And: there may still be cars for sale near you which are already listed in this section.

Totally understand. I was just looking for a car to start the project. This will be my second Lemons build. The first one was poorly timed and I don’t own it anymore. I’m broadening my search by reaching out here as well as looking locally on FB Marketplace, etc. Thanks for the concern though!

Thank you for the concern! I was up all night looking at posts, and threads. It’s cool to know the staff actively helps out!
