Topic: Application question

Hi gang

We're tweaking the app for the June Dallas race.  If accepted, this will be our first event.

In order to avoid 'Committee Crisis' while building, we chose to keep team ownership as just two of us.  We plan on filling out the seats with a couple of buddies who will be essentially pay drivers for the event.  They, like us, understand the point is to finish and have fun, and that hyper-type-A personalities aren't really what we're about.

On the application, do we need to have those pay drivers listed?  Is it OK to set them as generic TBD?

Thanks

Re: Application question

It helps to get accepted if all the drivers are listed.  It shows that you at least have a full team together rather than a bunch of TBDs.  It all depends on how full the race is and how good the rest of your app is.  Bring a Fuego Turbo and you could leave the rest of the app blank and still get accepted, but list your car as a Miata and you better have your shit together.  Get it?

Re: Application question

You can put anybody on the team list. List the guys you have now, make sure you have 4 team members then once you get accepted you can adjust those drivers around.
You have until around 2 weeks before the race to make your final driver changes.
You don't get charged for changing out drivers, you only get charged by how many you have. This is a nice thing that Jay and the gang have allowed since the beginning because they know some driver just don't work out. (OR PAY UP)

Worry more about how you write your  letter and the car you are going to run.

Good Luck and hope to see you at the track.

Re: Application question

Heck, I put Charlie Brown, Linus VanPelt, Lucy VanPelt and Pig Pen and got accepted, but then again we are running a 87 1 ton mid engine twin turbo gmc van.
