Topic: New team in Ann Arbor MI looking for a cage builder

Hello Lemons family,

I'm with a new team based out of the Michigan Ann Arbor area building an 07 Honda Fit for Lemons and none of us have ever built a proper race car before so we're looking for any leads we can get in regard to finding a fabricator in the Ann Arbor/Metro Detroit area.

Any tips on how to prep the car before taking it to a fabricator would be appreciated too,

Many experienced builders here on the forum suggest *mounting the seat first*, before welding the cage.
The rest includes:

1. stripping the interior, and
2. whether you're keeping the dash and *defrost system*, (and how much of it), and
3. determining fit for both short and tall drivers on your team, and,
4. if the seat will move, and
5. whether the door bars get recessed into the door.

... as a starting point.
