Topic: need a team name/theme - danger German cars with in

With my ever growing corral of German piles, it is time to get them under one umbrella.  I was thinking of something from the pre WWII era.  Maybe paint all the cars up like German fighters or famous art work.  Could go with some sort of AutoUion vs. Mercedes theme also.

the fleet:

89 Jetta
67 Mercedes 200
72 Mercedes 300 SEL

name ideas:

Bankrott durch Laufen (play of KdF slogans in WWII) - bankrupy through racing
Lauken Korps or Schnell Werks - racing group or speed works
Deutscher Autotsportverband
Deutsch Kampf

There might be an Escort coming soon, and I suggested a P-51 Mustang (bomber escort) for that, complete with D-day stripes and all, even a paintball gun. It would be fun to chase, or be chased, by an ME-109. There's already a Japanese WW-II plane theme out here on the west coast tracks.

You could always do a Red Baron theme, and play the Snoopy-vs- Red Baron song.

the 300 is maroon, so I was thinking of making it the Maroon Baron (also live in College Station, home of Texas A&M, their team colors).  the 67 is black so paint it like a night fighter and the 89 is white so some sort of winter colors or Afrika Korps colors.

Do "Hogans Zeros" - imprisoned in the German "POW camp" - the car... dress up in bomber jackets/hats. Of Course Luftwaffe themes on the car is always cool......

Because you're an Aggie, and I'm a Red Raider, I normally would take great pleasure in your failure.  But if you use this theme I believe you will succeed:

Team Schadenfreude - Lots of possibilities, sucha as Nelson Muntz on the side of your car saying "HaHa"

Gator-O-Rama 2012 "Organizers Choice" -2 laps 1 trophy, but i still finished ahead of an E30

Nice. Simple black and white paint scheme. Will it have a pointy nose and fins?

I wonder if you would be allowed to use V2 as your car's number.

We are working on fins. The nose is quite pointy by itself, and VW did us the favor of equippping it with bumpers that are exceptional factory brush bars, kangaroo catchers, etc. We leave them on for your protection. wink

We are still #88. Car used to be silver. Every time we hit 88mph, the driver would disappear. It was weird......... big_smile
