Topic: Rain deflectors

At one point someone posted a pic of some rain deflectors they had fashioned and affixed to their A-pillars that they claimed worked wonders at keeping rain out of the car at speed.

I've tried but can't find it, anyone know what I'm talking about?  If you could link me to that post, I'd appreciate it.

Or if you've got a rain deflector setup, I'd love to see it.

Hopefully I can get an idea of what works and what doesn't before this weekend's Gingerman race.  Right now there's a low chance of rain, but a few days ago, the forcast was pretty forboading, who knows?

Re: Rain deflectors

that was me:

we found that a small 6" deflector on the driver's side of the windshield kept all the rain off the driver even in this vehicle:

you can see it a bit better here:

everyone stayed dry after that fix was done.

Re: Rain deflectors

I can't find it in the JC Whitney catalog. What's the part number????  smile

That's a good idea. Need to rig one up and throw it in the box of spares to bring to the race.

Re: Rain deflectors

go to lowe's and get a piece of lexan long enough to mount on the pillar. use a few zip screws, and you're done.

be sure to use lexan. plexi is frowned upon....
