theme ideas???

I am new to the whole Lemons and I am doing some research .   I was wondering how fun/funny or politically correct the Judges and “the People’s Choice” are with the themes?  We are b unch of stupid young kids in New York and we are thinking about running an old, big 4 door merc and calling our selves the “WASPs Who Stole Dads Car” or something else upper crusty, i.e. the Flying Butlers, or maybe even The Leman Brother Race Team.    Will we even get accepted; then if we do, will our car be crushed the moment it starts by the people choice?

Re: theme ideas???

All those ideas are fairly low key, you dont stand much chance of offending anyone.

Politically correct.....bahaahahahahahahah

We won the IOE at Southern Discomfort.
We got screwed at The Real Hoopties of New Jersey  and we took cars down with us.
We got the curse at Capitol Offense but they wouldn't let us destroy the car.

Re: theme ideas???

Im still wondering if (when) we do the Ambiguously Gay Duo theme complete with the umm...phallic....car it will offend wink

Ha.  I like the qualifier.  Because it is everyone's theme now?

Re: theme ideas???

I like the "kids who stole GRANDPAS car"......   But I just like yank tanks in general....

The BEST way to assure you get in is a KILLER theme...which you already understand..a killer theme and yank tank is even better.....a well decorated yank tank, even better and so on....

But he manages to utter a weak... "My, that's uh, that's a hell of an act.  What do you call yourselves?"

When did Penn & Teller start racing at Lemons events?

Re: theme ideas???

I like your WASP idea. Not everyone will get it (midwesterners have no idea what a WASP is in general) but I think it's hilarious. With the right car, the right degree of cluelessness, and lots of Polo/Izod shirts, this would be quite prime.

The Lehman Borthers thing has been done over and over - Team We Buy Subprime did a great job with it.

Flying Butlers also has potential. I envision a MB with a back seat passenger of sorts.

Well that is Penn Gillette, that's not Teller... Has nobody seen "The Aristocrats" documentary?

Re: theme ideas???

hipster racing - do something ironic, reference brooklyn somehow and bring a lot of pbr

Re: theme ideas???

How about a snooty MOMA theme, an anti-art car, or a NY Yankers theme, as in a yank wanker, or a person who yanks on stuff (like car parts at a pick-n-pull), with a nod to baseball.
