Topic: Loaner & borrowed parts

I've looked but don't see this topic directly on the forum or the rules. Example: our car needs a battery but only for testing and race weekend, I just happen to have two batteries in my boat that I only need while boating. Since I will not be boating during testing and on race weekend, can I "loan" my battery to the vehicle without assessing a dollar value to the part or incurring a penalty for my kindness?

Re: Loaner & borrowed parts

The short answer is no.  If you could borrow parts, then I could "borrow" a 450hp turbocharged engine... just for the weekend.

The slightly longer answer is:  the judges probably won't notice a used battery.

even after reading this? wink

Re: Loaner & borrowed parts

Guess that rules out the "loaner" LS6 my neighbor has in storage. :-) Just looking for ways to be as frugal as possible and not risk BSF.

Thanks
