Topic: Dangerous Homemade Technology Award

I didn't see a Most Dangerous Homemade Technology award given at Thunderhill.  Does such a thing still exist?  Did it ever exist?

I'm plotting something for the future and I'm hoping there is s prize to chase.

I dont recall seeing one at American Irony either.

Pendejo - There is no such thing as a racing budget and if you can't afford to set it on fire and watch it burn while drinking a beer then don't race it.

This can only mean that we've run out of good ideas.

Re: Dangerous Homemade Technology Award

since when would a *good* idea win it?

One day, Mister ffffffffffffffffox!

Re: Dangerous Homemade Technology Award

it was awarded to a team in houston, for using milk jugs strapped to the cage. they were using the jugs wth hoses off the breather to "reclaim" the oil their car was blowing thru

What I want to know is if there is a list of the banned technology.

leave it to Lemons to prove Einstein wrong by running out of dangerous/banned home-made technology.

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe"

so we're admitting that we've run out of truly bad ideas?

I'm not aware of one.

Anything that causes your total vehicle "investment" to exceed $500.  Figure out how to power your car with cold fusion for less than $500?  Awesome.

Re: Dangerous Homemade Technology Award

We had to change the trophy (and the Least Horrible Yank Tank) to Awesome E30 awards at Thunderhill, because the Bavarian Ranchero and Prickstine HAD to get trophies for being generally amazing.

We've got a candidate for the dangerous homemade technology award in the Craptation.  It has solved a real problem and we're quite proud of it.  smile

Anything that is home made with 4 seperate fuel lines going into it HAS to be a contender.

We won the IOE at Southern Discomfort.
We got screwed at The Real Hoopties of New Jersey  and we took cars down with us.
We got the curse at Capitol Offense but they wouldn't let us destroy the car.

Re: Dangerous Homemade Technology Award

I'm all for the Homemade Tech Award.  We will be at CMP  this weekend running a system we made that converts water into Hydrogen through electrolysis.  If people don't believe we are actually injecting H2 in to the intake just bubble some of the gas in soapy water and light it.   It sounds like a shotgun just went off.  Hopefully our motor doesn't make that noise.

We haven't had time to test it yet - Saturday will be a first.  You might want to give us a wide path on the track.

Stop by and we will show you...

Too bad ours sounds like a shotgun going down the road, and electrolysis is full of win.

Re: Dangerous Homemade Technology Award

I thought it was the "Banned F1 Technology Award" where thinks like active suspension, or in the Craptations case active Aerodynamics (crapodynamics?) were the sort of things to do....
