Any truth to that?

Cool suit? I'm still wondering if my Apollo 18 car will make it to the start line and if the Mr. Bean Mini's #3 "bitsa" motor will last long enough for the 7 newbies on the team to get at least 1 session behind the wheel.

I'm stuck in New Hampshire until Sunday and, well, the cage for Apollo 18 is almost done. A few additional welds/plates were requested by the higher ups. Hopefully, I can get to that Sunday and then Mon night, Tues night and Wed night I can run the plumbing, find a power unit and transmission, figure out how to get electricity where it needs to get: Pretty much build a racecar.

The BRW is coming and is bringing its cool suit system.  I am not sure the race will be survivable without one.

We're too busy welding up both of the cars to spend too much time on the forums.  Eyesore is showing up with a new theme, so we're putting some extra special lovin' on ours.

They'll do about 50 down the front straight, but they'll look kickass!

25 years in the barn/field, 2 months in my carport, and our car is almost ready. It's even been to T'hill twice already.  We're mounting tires tomorrow and making a few minor fixes, them moving on to driver stuff like radio, cool seat, cameras, oh, and paint and decals.

(We can almost reach 80 down the straight.)

Looks like 120+ entries, air temps in the high 80's to mid 90's, track temps over 100 I'm sure.  I wonder if there will be any temporary chicanes or will it be like the last two events; the full 2.9 mile track sans chicanes? Anyone know? I vaguely recall a post or two on here saying there will be a chicane this time, bummer if there is.

We filled up a white board with our to do checklist.  It was kinda depressing.  Perhaps we should spend less time writing down our to do list and more time doing the things on it....

Don't worry John - Craig's a pessimist.  I'm confident that once bandit 2 has an engine in her she'll do at least 75.  'course, the only way we could hit that kind of speed now woul be if it fell off a lift...

Yes.  Excited.  I'm doing a one-off drive with the Zoom Zoom...BOOM team since my usual teammates couldn't make it to this race.  With any luck, we'll have Zoom Zoom but no BOOM!

Zoom Zoom is a great little car. The engine is about the size of the battery, but it just keeps going and going and consistently turns in top-20 performances.  I drove it at Goin for Broke and had a great race with a 914 that went on for 5-8 laps.

Team Tinyvette is almost ready. Hoping the paint dries in time to get the decals on it before we head on up to Willows.

Paint? Decals?!

I still don't have an engine or trans! No brake or fuel hard lines run, no master cylinders installed, no shift linkage, no belts, no seat, no wiring...  Oh, and no floor.

However, I DO have some sweet wheels with tires mounted on them now thanks to John / Magnusracing! Now if only I had a running car to put them on.

I'm likely going to be pulling a Speedycop and finishing the build some time Saturday afternoon.

4 hours of sleep here I (yawn) come.

Zoom Zoom BOOM has a new car.  We already had a BOOM on the new car at Chump Fontana (rod through the block), so hopefully we will have no more BOOM with the junkyard fresh engine...

Goal is to have everything ready tonight so tomorrow I can relax all day!

Team Dai Hard will be there in full swing but we still have to mount a seat - the Sparco Evo we have in the car now is a little bit too narrow for one of our drivers who's bringing a brand new Corbeau with him. Anybody know if the Sparco and Corbeau mounting points are the same/similar?

In typical fashion, we'll be finishing our decorations in the paddock for everyone to see.  Although I think people will have a pretty good idea what we're up to fairly quickly.
