Topic: Anyone got a spare VW MK2 Gauge Cluster and Going to Thunderhill?!?

Hi All,

We are just about finished with our 1985 VW Jetta for the Thunderhill race this weekend.  She is looking pretty good, however, we were working late last night and somehow shorted the cluster on the roll cage dash bar. We now have no tach, fuel or temp gauges. Looking to buy/borrow one ASAP.

Would be really helpful if you are coming to Thunderhill, live somewhere along the 5 or are in LA to Santa Barbara Area. Obviously we don't have a lot of $ to spend but will take anything as long as the gauges work!!!!

Thanks!

Tyler,

check out http://www.picknpull.com/check_inventory.aspx for the inventory throughout CA.  In Oakland and Newark near me they each have a 87 and an 89 and an 86 and an 89 (Richmond also has some but I don't want to get shot pre-race).  I can check them out for you.  Fairfield and Sacramento also has two similar years cars.  Here is there take on pricing... http://www.picknpull.com/part_pricing.aspx If you search for "cluster" it gives the instrument cluster as $35.  If I find a good one we could swap it for a tank of gas for "Eleanor" for this shady driver... http://picasaweb.google.com/vwminispeed … 5317588658

Hey Chris,

Your awesome! The BRO's will gladly fill "Eleanor" if you can find us a cluster.  We will make this guy do it:

The salvage yards down here are pretty slim!

Thanks!

you can also use www.car-parts.com. and search for the specific year, make, car, part. This searches auto dismantlers and so is not quite as cheap and PnP, but it finds more parts.
