Topic: Big thank you to Clint at Evil Genius!
Eyesore Racing adopted Ryan Meeks and his Prelude for this race, making for a very confusing/exciting 2-car team. Double the number of cars on your team and you double the chances of something going wrong. If that extra car is a Honda, you quadruple them!
We finally got a lucky start position this time and had the Prelude in the lead from almost the 2nd lap, but when we were changing brake pads Saturday night, I noticed some movement in the suspension and soon discovered this fatigue failure on the Prelude's upper control arm mount:
When I poked the mount with my finger, the damn thing fell right out!
There was all kinds of welding and grinding going on at the Evil Genius compound, so we pushed our car over and bribed Clint with pizza and belly dancers to help us weld everything back together.
If it weren't for Clint, we wouldn't have run long enough for out alternator to die, our battery to puke acid all over the place, and our alternator wiring to melt on the header and kill the car on turn 5 at least 6 times in a row. We got to know the safety crew really well...
I hate Hondas.
Thanks Clint!
