Topic: When can we expect the 2010 schedule? ...and a few other ?'s.

We were originally trying for the Houston race in October, but looks like we will have to shoot for a race early next year instead.

When can we expect to see a schedule for 2010? Any idea how closely it will resemble this year's schedule?

Specifically, I'm looking for the first race closest to TX.

Re: When can we expect the 2010 schedule? ...and a few other ?'s.

They released the 2009 schedule in late Novemebr of 2008.

It would be nice if they would announce it earlier.

Why can't you make Houston in October?

Still trying to get the team committed. Right now, its just a few of us crazy chiefs trying to recruit a few more dedicated indians.

Also, more time = more unemployment checks to contribute to the cause.

How about a Jan/Feb race in the northeast? the current "Arsefreezapalooza" is golf weather where I'm from....

I don't think it'll have to come to that. I'd much rather have dudes I know on the team.

How else am I going to screw up some perfectly good friendships?!

Would make a good series for the History channel: Ice road Lemons.

I've seen that happen more than one over this race.

We've had a couple meltdowns, but we got 2 of our guys from craigslist.  I have gained 2 friends from this race!

Well ok, more than that.. but at least from my team

Don't worry John... you are my friend too smile

Re: When can we expect the 2010 schedule? ...and a few other ?'s.

Here in the western new york area there is an anual race called the hangover 150. It is an endurance race that is held on new years day with a 4,6, and 8 clinder class. this is at a dirt track and it is a bit of a demolition derby but lots of fun. So If you are looking for a cold weather race for crappy cars that should take care of your fixx.

Re: When can we expect the 2010 schedule? ...and a few other ?'s.

I'm still pushing for a race in a 10-story parking garage. Top to bottom and then back to the top... all weekend long!

Re: When can we expect the 2010 schedule? ...and a few other ?'s.

The reason for the late release of our race lineup is that the tracks don't finalize their schedules until late fall/early winter--believe me, we'd like to get the dates squared away earlier as well. As far as Texas, there's a pretty strong possibility that we'll follow a similar spring/fall schedule as this year. If demand is enough, we might add a third event....

Ok Nick, I demand that you add a third event.

Would this 3rd event be at a different track than MSR Houston?

Re: When can we expect the 2010 schedule? ...and a few other ?'s.

A third Texas event would be great! If not at MSR, there is Texas World Speedway in College Station, and from what I understand, at least one or two tracks in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
If all goes well, we should have a team together next year.
If all goes *really* well, we should have team funds together next year. wink

Man, I'm hoping for another April CMP event. The '08 July event was fun but it was stinkin' hot.

Re: When can we expect the 2010 schedule? ...and a few other ?'s.

I think the guys at No Probelm would be happy to run two races too.

TWS would be all kinds of awesome.  It's a fast track which might be an insurance problem.

There are other tracks in Texas that could host a race.

Oh please please pretty please please. What do you need to prove "strong demand" other than the list of all the teams from North Texas that already travel to Houston and to the No Problem race this year? All the Houston guys should have the privilege to come up north at least once a year and experience true Texas hospitality! smile
