Re: When can we expect the 2010 schedule? ...and a few other ?'s.

What about Putnam Park?  Only down side I can think of is it is a bit narrow, so no 100+ field, but other than  that, not much to hit, and isn't all that fast.

I hope we get another Buttonwillow date. Great track, great facilities, great people. Doesn't hurt that it's fairly close to San Diego, either.

Putnam is on the Chumpcar schedule for next year.  And it is not too far from me.
We'll be there, one way or another.

I know this is an old post, but I just got around to reading it, and I gotta say this is one of the best damn racing ideas I've EVER heard. Even if it's a one-time deal in a garage about to be torn down, I would travel ANYWHERE in the US to take part. Everyone needs to put their ears to the ground, somewhere there's gotta be a garage getting knocked down soon!

I believe there's a couple of half built bankrupt casinos in Vegas with a parking garage like that.

You wouldn't believe the grief we took for the Lamest Day from one of our bike groups!!! They were really wanking about the Lemons coming in October because they were thinking of the same date. You snooze you lose. But Jay is right. Tracks have to wait for their regular users to finalize their schedule's. SCCA being the slowest sometimes not getting anything final until February. But luckily, we get a real god idea by this time of the year what the various clubs want for dates and the traditional ones to place any newcomers to the sched. We all have our fantasies about great tracks to run. But some are so cost prohibitive to make them out of the question. Could you imagine what it would cost to run Mid-Ohio? Budgets for our regions races there in the 1990's were $150,000 plus range.

I had forgotten that there's an honest-to-goodness road course at Heartland Park in Topeka, having watched some SCCA Runoffs on Speed at 2 am.  Presumably they'd run out of NASCAR coverage and pimp-my-ultimate-whip type shows.  Just throwin' that out there to the universe in case the '10 schedule hasn't been fully finalized.

Re: When can we expect the 2010 schedule? ...and a few other ?'s.

How about a Canadian round?

I would suggest Mosport, but like those who talked about Grattan,  you better line up the ambulances at the bottom of corner 2.

Shannonville Motorsport Park would be perfect.  Good length.  Flat. Lots of run-off room.  It would be a hoot!!!

Given the winter we had here last year... maybe.  I think the last frost day in Ontario is usually late May, so overnight it might be freezing, but most days in May are in the 10-15C range (~54F).

Chumpcar is at Infineon sometime next year (or maybe late this year).

Pacific Raceways, aka Seattle International Raceway, aka "Kent," is a great track and should be pretty modest to rent.  Fun track with lots of great history, and like I said, cheap.

Portland International Raceway?  A little closer for CA folks, yet a little closer for those of us up here in the Pacific NorthWet.

Brilliant! Downtown Birmingham, Alabama is full of under-utilized structures. In addition, Federal investigations or charges are pending with the Mayor as well as several county commisioners, past & present. I can't think of a better place for Chief Perpetrators to put their thumbs on the scales of jalopy justice.

PIR is ChumpCar's first venue on Halloween, this year.  Still accepting late applications with a small lap penalty, come on Down and play in my backyard!  Check out the website ThatOtherSeries.com.

ChumpCar also running at Spokane July 25th!

Please, Please, Please Putnam Park.  It would be awesome to not have to drive 12 hours to an event.  There needs to be something in the distance radius between Indianapolis, Nashville, Birmingham, and St Louis.

I would think the GP track at Talladega would be good.  It is cheap, open, and not too big to manage 100+ cars being towed around.
