Topic: Lemons South Fall. Who is in?

Just found out - We are in!  We are team Black Sheep Racing.  The Black Nissan 300ZX (Z31) with the red Japanese Rising Sun painted on the doors.  We finished 9th in the spring.

Sadly, we are in again.  #20 Escort.  We are still scheming on a theme.

Re: Lemons South Fall. Who is in?

Team Lab Rats is back.  Good thing too because my wife would have killed me if I only got to use that race suit one time....

Zero Liability Coverage got in, first time racers so it should be amusing. smile

Re: Lemons South Fall. Who is in?

Team's Toyota are in.... Looks like our Trusty FX16 (Good job Justin!) and a "new" 85' Mr2 to replace our Battered Celica (not so good David!) will bring game to the fight.

"Don't mess with Lexas!" LS400. We survived another one! See website link for build details.

Re: Lemons South Fall. Who is in?

The POS Racing Civic that was a UPS truck last time will be there.  I'm thinking Ice Cream truck this go round...complete with music to annoy you all.  Our smoke screen will be in full effect too since we haven't touched the motor.

Looking forward to it...please don't hit us again

Re: Lemons South Fall. Who is in?

Hola!

Team SOB will be making our Lemons debut at CMP this fall with our '86 Golf.
Here's hoping they accept all 150+ cars, and let us run the FULL COURSE.....

See everyone in September!

Great!

Looks like there will be at least 4 teams going up from Tampa (Skool BoyZ Racing being the 4th in our old "SleaZy Racing" 280Z.)

Same bet as last time?

Thanks, I'll double check with Kyle but I think we are going to drag it up ourselves with Stinky's new Pickup Truck.

Are you going to secure the covered garages this time again to make sure we are side by side?

Your's was the only car that made me cry.  Literally, it was brutal following you guys.

Re: Lemons South Fall. Who is in?

In my opinion, the Lemons South races are the most fun of all. Counting the days!

Well, all Lemons races are fun as hell, but the South races so far have managed to raise the bar for me. Here's why:

1. Southerners + racing = awesome
2. CMP is such a great track- all the facilities are top shelf and the place is run by total pros.
3. Huge spectator turnout, as in thousands of heavy-duty race fans
4. Hardly any whining (take note, Houston and West Coast teams)
5. Southerners + barbecue = awesome. If you stop for 15 seconds at any pit space, someone will shove a plate of ribs into your hands.
6. General understanding of what the spirit of Lemons is all about
7. Busted cheaters are proud of their adherence to hallowed Southern racing (i.e., cheatin') traditions, rather than all pissy that we don't believe their bullshit stories. See #4.

I'd say that the West Coast races have the best themes and the highest general level of driver skill, but they also have the highest proportion of deadly-serious racers who can't have any fun unless they're winning. We're most likely to get SCREAMED AT by racers in the Pacific Time Zone.

I also remember Judge Lieberman and yourself actually having time to stand by the fence on the front straight and watch the race.  Must be nice to actually get a chance to watch the race instead of just getting "screamed at" while judging a never ending flow of crapcans!

Yeah, I'd say we usually get to watch maybe 5 total minutes of racing at a typical Lemons event, so having the combo of clean driving + nice vantage point near the penalty box is pretty nice.

You guys remember talking to me while you were up against the fence the last race at CMP.  You asked me what team I was on.  I told you our name and pointed to our car.  You pointed out how we had run a nice clean race and how you had not had to see us yet.............  just as our car was spinning out in front of us after being hit by that Mercedes tank.

I just got on the radio and told our guy to come on in, don't even bother waiting for the Black Flag.  It was hard to fly under the radar on that one.
