He's gotta time it so he gets out before they close the road on pit-out, but not so early that he becomes a navigational hazard (ahem) when the thing goes kerplunkity. Also, a fresh battery will allow the starter to move the car a good 2-300 feet if that's what it takes to make it across the finish line.

I was the one driving for the last 5 laps when the knock got ridiculous. The driver before me did a 3 hour stint for his first time on a track.

sorry, i dont know. my team blew it's motor on the transponder check laps, so everyone slept til noon (except me), then we packed and were on the road to Texas by 3
at least i got to drive the sChitroen while they were sleeping.

in the race thread it was said that Spank put it up as a wedding gift to some people getting married at the track? that's the last i heard of it's fate. I would call it a shame, but were I an owner of that much effluency, I can't exactly say I'd be sad to see it go.

it was given as a wedding gift, but alas, it would not fit on anyone's trailer. it was parked with the title in the windshield. there was a good fuel cell in the trunk.

Phil first tried to schlep it off on me, but i had a deadline in Houston, and no trailer. Once Spank heard of the wedding, and the fact that the groom really wanted the sChetroen, and to finally enter a Lemons race, it was the perfect gift... until it wouldn't fit.

I really need a fuel cell. I would have swapped a jerry-can for the tank if i had known it was getting abandoned.
