Re: San Diego Lemons drivers

I think I should be able to make it. A couple of my other team mates are from North County as well so hopefully they can come along.

Re: San Diego Lemons drivers

I will be there along with 2 team mates.

Re: San Diego Lemons drivers

Underground will be well represented at K1.

Your going down like Catholic school girls at a BJ festival.

24 miles to Deja? pffft.. See you there. I'm feeling charitable. I'll bring the ladies some spare teeth.

Re: San Diego Lemons drivers

btw.. Scott.. have you successfully run any Auto X down here with the bimmer?

I was thinking about taking the Z.. since I live across the street from Qualcomm.. but doesn't seem like a whole lot of driving..

I'm not Scott, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night...

Yeah, the Porcubimmer has run quite a few autocrosses at qualcomm. He's running it in the SD Grand Challenge series, which does autocross at Qualcomm, and drag races at Barona.

Re: San Diego Lemons drivers

Yes, we've run 2 or 3 autocrosses in the Porcubimmer, and as ecniv said, we've been in the San Diego Grand Challenge series which involves 3 autocross events. However I skipped today's autocross to go to the scavenger hunt instead.

Re: San Diego Lemons drivers

How many miles would you say you put on the car at these events?

The UNDERGROUND

Re: San Diego Lemons drivers

From autocrossing? Maybe 3-5 miles. Not much, but racing locally has enough to discover potential problems. Our flywheel broke at an autocross last year before Thunderhill, and our transmission locked itself in 2nd gear at a drag race last month, requiring repair of the trans and replacement of the driveshaft coupling.

I've been using local racing as a testbed for reliability which obviously has been working!

Re: San Diego Lemons drivers

So who all is showing up at K1 on Thursday? I will be there closer to 7:45-8:00 so see ya guys then!

Re: San Diego Lemons drivers

Team:  Skip's barber's racing stools

We have all four of our team members.

Re: San Diego Lemons drivers

I'm out. Thursday is the only night my girlfriend is going to be in town all week and she'll have a shit fit if I don't spend some time with her. I can't say I blame her, but sucks nonetheless.

Re: San Diego Lemons drivers

We will have 3 or more ready for the smack down.

Re: San Diego Lemons drivers

Side bets anyone???

Re: San Diego Lemons drivers

I think the prize was provided by Magnus Racing, they will put a 12 pack and a cuban cigar (rolled on the thighs of virgins) to the winner.  I'll toss in one of our team tees if you happen to kick our butt.  We are racing a GP race.

Tees:  http://www.zazzle.com/pilotipete

You guys can create your own team tee's @ zazzle  it's only about 16 bucks per shirt with no setup fees.  Pretty cool

Re: San Diego Lemons drivers

Magnus Racing / Pendejo Engineering is putting up the beer and cuban cig. All you boys better bring your A game.

SIDE BET!  Hmmmm  maybe the losers have to put the winning teams stickers on there cars. Any ideas? This could be good.

This is one of those times you really really want to say something but i am going to keep my mouth shut out of respect. So on to another subject.

GP or for time trial style?

I vote for GP style

Re: San Diego Lemons drivers

GP style....  it's 6 laps of Q then they place us into a grid based upon Q,  main race is a 14 lap shootout.

Re: San Diego Lemons drivers

If you guys wanna start the GP at 8PM that would be awesome so everyone can be there by then! Just do a warm up session if ya get there before.

In all fairness, you should put down the combined weight of car and driver vs. their lap times.  I would paint a better picture for the folks at home.
