Topic: Lamest Day: Friday night camping at NL?

It's not clear to me if we can leave a trailer at the track on Friday night, and/or if we are allowed to camp over on Friday night.  The schedule says "Saturday gates open 7AM", which makes me think that the track will be closed up friday night.

Anyone know for certain what happens after friday night practice?

We have a Friday night practice so yes, we can stay there.  We won't get kicked out.

We are the people your parents warned you about.

God, I hope so.  With a 24 hour race - when else are we going to party?

We won the IOE at Southern Discomfort.
We got screwed at The Real Hoopties of New Jersey  and we took cars down with us.
We got the curse at Capitol Offense but they wouldn't let us destroy the car.

Thanks guys.  Just wanted to be sure we didn't need to make off-track arrangements for Friday night.

Hey, as long as we get the registration stuff early enough, you can come in on Thursday and camp through Monday morning if you need to. I'll post an update when y'all can start coming in.

Re: Lamest Day: Friday night camping at NL?

I would like to get there on thursday night as well. Getting up at 4am to try to be there for the opening of the gate on friday would kind of suck

Re: Lamest Day: Friday night camping at NL?

We've got a 10-11 hour drive ahead of us, hoping to come in Thurs Night if possible.

Re: Lamest Day: Friday night camping at NL?

Has there been any update on potential thursday camping?   If reg material isn't there yet can we camp outside the track (aka not crossing the track/bridge?

Thanks.

Re: Lamest Day: Friday night camping at NL?

I got an email from Bryan saying (paraphrasing) that camping was ok, assuming we remember the bribe clause (steak preferred as medium) and that counts double if they smell it cooking.  Additionally, they need us there before registration, which will go pretty late, but will definitely close up shop by midnight.  (we're planning on trying to be there by 9-10)

Re: Lamest Day: Friday night camping at NL?

We plan to camp Thursday night because the Friday practice mandatory driver's meeting is at 9:45am (I think that time's right).  We cannot make it there that early unless we drive in Thursday and camp.

Bryan did say that Thursday camping would be OK from what I remember.

Re: Lamest Day: Friday night camping at NL?

Great.  We'll plan on seeing everyone thursday

Re: Lamest Day: Friday night camping at NL?

Its getting close now and it seems we will be coming down Thursday night... if we are lucky.. and I doubt it we would hope to pull in around 10pm... Seeing as we all have to work thursday... blah!  But I am debating to take monday off if possible to allow for some after race festivities.

Re: Lamest Day: Friday night camping at NL?

Seems that Jay wants to open registration at noon on Thursday. So we're going with that and putting the word out that you can enter the track then and start setting up your paddock space. And it looks like registration may be open all night Thursday. One way or another, we'll get everyone in as soon as possible.
