Topic: Roll cage

Hello everyone. I would like to hear some suggestions on installing a roll cage in a vehicle. Some possible tips and tricks to save money on a roll cage.
Thanks!

Re: Roll cage

I would not like to know that.  I would like a simple list of places that have installed regulation cages that have passed tech.  The roll cage is the last place you want to save money, or learn as you go.

there are a lot of variables in that question
what car will get the cage?
what is your skill level?
what equipment do you have?

if you answered "none" to any of those, have a professional do it.

Yee-Haw 2010 "Most Heroic Fix" & "I Got Screwed" -2 trophies for 1 lap, but I took checkered on my lap.
Gator-O-Rama 2012 "Organizers Choice" -2 laps 1 trophy, but i still finished ahead of an E30
Yee-Haw 2013 No trophy -26 laps, I think I see a pattern here
Gator-O-Rama 2014 "Waiting for the Last Minute Call from the Governor Award" -who's counting? John

Re: Roll cage

I would tend to agree with Hoonatic, if you're asking you should probably seek out a professional.

If you have a decent skill set and access to equipment, this is a good thread on general cage design:

We ended up buying our custom cage "kit" from roll cage components since I didn't want to deal with bending.  He had the dimensions on file and the fit (so far) is excellent.  I will caution that going this route still takes a good bit of fabrication knowledge/experience as well as a good welder to install.  YMMV.

The first rule about Corner-Carvers is you don't talk about Corner-Carvers.
