Topic: 4,963,624 ways to use a Bosch Relay (or how to blind the judges)

I found the above relay wiring diagrams years ago and found it to be a huge help in wiring up my race cars.
Thought maybe it would help someone here since we have to add stuff that could potentially cause fires in old corroded up wiring harnesses.

Cool, thanks Bill.  I was just online looking for relay diagrams for our headlights and aux lights for the Lamest Day race.  Perfect timing.

here is a good one as well. Easy to understand for those BMW drivers... it has pictures with colors...

Hmmm, apparently, 85 and 86 can be swapped.  The first link you sent shows 86 being the switch and 85 the ground and the first link in your second post shows the 86 being the ground and the 85 the switched power.

The coil itself won't care which way the electrons are flowing. However, when following behind someone else's wiring job, I wouldn't assume anything. wink

It doesn't really matter which way you go, but it's a very good idea to be consistent.

This might be the first chapter in my forthcoming book "Lessons In Life Learned from Lemons." smile

Giggity big_smile

But seriously, yeah, be consistent was part of what I had in mind, but forgot to add after the 'following others' bit. I've seen other folks' squirrely wiring jobs on cars, houses and equipment... when there is no consistency, it is a nightmare to figure out.

Actually, I learned that lesson much earlier in life, thanks to my experiences with Joe Lucas, Prince Of Darkness.
