Topic: Lamest Day testing...what's the correct time?

The NL page says the drivers' meeting is at 8:45, and the testing session runs 9-4.

http://www.nelsonledges.com/GOTSchedule … isMonth=10

The Lemons site says the meeting is at 9:45 and runs from 10-4.

we plan to be there by 7 anyway, but it would suck for people to show up at 9 and miss the drivers' meeting.

edit:  i sent a note to Kerrie at NL.  will post her response.

Re: Lamest Day testing...what's the correct time?

Hey Buzz, any idea if all the drivers need to attend the driver's meeting?  Two of our drivers are flying into Cleveland at 7am.  It will be very tight to get their rental car and drive out to NL by 8:45.

Friday, 10am-4pm: Nelson Ledges-Organized Track Day. You must sign up at the track office Friday morning, and attend a mandatory meeting at 9:45 a.m. in the tech building. Cost is $120/car with one driver + $30 for each additional driver, payable to Nelson Ledges. For more info, contact Kerrie Lane at the track: kerrielane@aol.com or 440.548.8551.

so it seems that if you want to test, you have to attend the meeting, so no biggie if they don't make it on time, they'll just be hanging out for a while

Yeah, except the meeting is at 8:45, not 9:45 according to the info Buzz got from Kerrie.  That pretty much means that anyone practicing Friday will need to come in Thursday night.  Our California drivers have never seen the car or the track.  They are the ones who really need to have seat time.  Of course this assumes we are finished with the car and not wrenching all day Friday.  big_smile

Re: Lamest Day testing...what's the correct time?

there is still the 7-10:30 night practice, so they can still get some track time, although you probably will want to make sure they get some time in before it gets to dark so they don't miss a turn and end up in the trees.

*shrug*  dunno.  i assume that's the case, but i suppose it's best to check w/ the track.  our guys plan on getting there early (~7am) Friday morning.

Re: Lamest Day testing...what's the correct time?

Regarding the track sponsored test day:   A team rep and at least one team driver should attend the drivers meeting. It's not necessary to have all the drivers there.
There is not a lot of info for this particular secession, so late arrivals can easily be brought up to speed.  If an entire team arrives late they'll have to check in with  a track official to get the basics.  Drivers meeting @ 8:45 AM,  On Track 9 - 4:00 PM

Re: Lamest Day testing...what's the correct time?

Bryan,

Is this going to be structured like a multi-session fun day or will it be more of a 'free for all with guidelines?'  The concern is seat time/test and tune time with the likely high number of cars as well as the high number of drivers per team.

Thanks!

Re: Lamest Day testing...what's the correct time?

We'll see how it goes. If we get a lot of cars, we may break it down to prior racing and or Nelson experience. But we'll probably make it an open session till it gets busy.
