Topic: Forced air to breaks...

Anyone tried to force air through intakes on the front bumper to the breaks for cooling?  We have a grand idea in which tubbing
will direct cool air down to the breaks.  It looks a little questionable but why not try, right.

Google "DIY brake ducts"

Ours come in from where out headlights were.

We got screwed at The Real Hoopties of New Jersey  and we took cars down with us.
We got the curse at Capitol Offense but they wouldn't let us destroy the car.

brakes! the word you are looking for is BRAKES!

Re: Forced air to breaks...

I thought about using one of these. http://www.buy.com/prod/attwood-turbo-b … 08541.html

Not sure if they would move enough air though. Over engineering for a $500 crap car. Plus they add weight.

Re: Forced air to breaks...

We did that on day 2 of Thunderhill....  Routed it from where the front blinkers were.  Seemed to work well.

I'd strap one of these to each a-arm.  If they'll boost HP by 20%, they must increase braking by 20%:  http://cgi.ebay.com/ELECTRIC-SUPERCHARG … 230429916d

Re: Forced air to breaks...

We see a lot of extremely overheated brakes at the hotter races (Buttonwillow, CMP, No Problem). Not sure how much good ducting at Lemons speeds accomplishes, but it's worth a try.

Yeah, the whole axle thing is kind of in the way.  Besides, we don't have them on our Prelude and never had an issue with the brakes overheating.

We didn't have an issue at Nelsons, but it was cold, and we were slow.  I imagine we will do some kind of duct for gingerman

How could $3 worth of dryer venting not be in your budget.
