Nice work Dave... best part:
Me: You welded the sway bar back together? Isn't it gonna snap?
Tim: No, you just need to use a sleeve and TIG weld it with uber-expensive Weld Mold 880 Nickel/Chromium filler material that stays ductile on high-carbon steel without heat treating.
Me: I'll shut up now.
wow. now i feel really over my head!
OK, so all you guys who won't put a Buick Straight Eight in your Sofia B because it's "too complicated" now officially have no excuse to put off that project for another minute!
Damn Murilee, my eyes! I can't un-see that thing, you know!

Hah, you must have been reading just as I put his up. I was having trouble posting for some reason, so I put up the picture, then put up the link, then put up the sentence. Took me less than a minute.
I guess that's too long for some people...

After looking through the pictures, I see a catastrophic driveshaft failure in your very near future. Good luck though, and I hope that flailing driveshaft doesn't hurt too bad...

You're right I must have no idea what I'm doing. The engine certainly has enough torque to overpower a tiny Spicer 1310 series joint. There's no way that the car has a limit cable to keep the u-joints from binding, no way that the joint faces could have been carefully aligned so that they go parallel under load, no way the car could top out at 108mph without a hint of driveline vibration, and it's certainly inconceivable that the car would have a driveshaft loop. Thanks so much for your concern.
