Cars? I'm expecting to see one of them as Bruce Spence flying in on an autogyro.
Team Fairlylame is in.
The Silver Bullets are in. The Museum if friggin a amazing. I am going to make sure to bring a camera with a fresh battery and memory card this year.
Eagle Racing is in!
We're hoping not to have to call upon "Steak Knife Steve" at the Birmingham Pull-A-Part to help us liberate another not exactly direct swap Neon block. We're paying tribute to the Barber gods by bringing that not quite right Neon block back down to Sweet Home Alabama. We've capped the extra holes with something other than rags & zip ties. We've even painted it bright CherryBomb red so it would go faster. With those serious performance enhancements, my fingers are crossed that this time we'll get more than 4 laps on 2.5 cylinders out of it before the race is called. Even better if it's not in the freeze your ass off, pouring down rain!
Here's 1 of the 4 "victory" laps we managed at the end of the race:
Inglorious Basturds are in! The Mighty Pinto and the Bird are ready Freddy! It was a bit crazy getting in last year. We got lucky and were in the right place at the right time. See everyone there! Prayin for sunshine.
Does anyone remember if there were 50A outlets at the bottom level parking area near the fence? They had them on the upper tiers, but I don't remember seeing them on the lower parking area.
We were on the second tier. I'm guessing there were some as those parts and merchandise trailers were lit up.
Yep, they had 50 amp and 15 amp plugs down on the first tier. Our race trailer has a 30 amp plug and I didn't have a 50 amp adapter, so we were using the 15 amp all weekend. Kept having to borrow air compressors all weekend as a result.
The plugs were a bit far from the fence. We didn't have an adapter or a long enough cord to reach it, we had to use the 15amp as well.
Thanks, that was the only reason that we didn't park by the fence last time. I have a lot of 50A cable; where are the plugs in relation to the fence?
They are on the fence side of the pit wall, I'm guessing 25ft? I think that we are going to the second level this race because of the view, showers, fuel, ect.
Duff, we will have a garage full of single cam EG stuff if you find yourself needing a bitchpin or just an alcohol beverage.

Thanks for the info, I'll just pull the Duff Beer Global Domination Activity Vehicle straight up to the fence.
Still not running but major progress in the last few days.
We'll make it.
OH!
And we're one driver short...
Bob,

Sweeeet! Looking forward to seeing it in person.
Has anyone actually called the track recently to confirm what their plan is for Thursday and Friday? When can we get in, where should we go before and after the gates open, etc?
That might interfere with my current plan to just show up and then bitch about whatever situation that I find there.
I have this chair (the beer is included for a size reference):
Someone left it at my shop, and Ricky suggested bringing it to Barber. Maybe the judges can do something ridiculous with it. If anyone wants a chair shaped like a stripper's shoe, then it will probably be around the judge's area.

I just called & left a message with Zune Motorsports about test/tune, hopefully they will get back to me.
Of course, if more people called, the squeaky wheel might get greased...
Ok, just got off the phone with Herr Lamm, here's the story. Apparently the guys who manage the track are in the middle of changing the general manager, so everything's sorta cattywampus with Barber. Jay said probably not to count on there being a test/tune but who knows.
Which says to me that the more folks who start calling Zune Motorsports to figure things out, the better. It will force them to get their story straight.
We will start calling today
I called 23 times and just breathed really heavily into the phone. That'll get'em to shape up!
Apparently my google-fu is weak and I can't find a good number for Zune motorsports, but Barber lists a Zoom Motorsports on their page, is that the right one?
