Family Tree Research Scam

Hey Folks,

Among the scams out there to get your personal information this one peeves me the most. I am a genealogist, I trace family lines/trees as a hobby. There is a scam out there right now that offers to trace yours for free, problem is in order to do that you have to give some personal information. Among this personal information they ask for your social security number, this is NOT needed to trace your family tree. If they ask for your SSN they are a scam.

I will be happy to research anyone's tree for them free of charge of course. But if you get this email offering to research and the information sheet asks anything except your birthday and name, it is a scam.
