(the setting is an old time hardware store fastener section)
A teammate and I are each standing in front of a pile of 3/8-16 bolts, running a nut down the threads checking for burrs and smashed thread form. I have recently lost an argument about the merits of Grade 8 hardware in an exhaust flange application. Not willing to give up the fight, I turn to the Grade 8 drawers and pull out a 3/8-16 x 3.5" bolt.
Me: Do you know what feels really good on these nuts?
Teammate (without looking up): Don't ever say that to me again.
