Re: Teams racing at Autobahn check in here
We're a new team from the Chicago burbs. Joliet will be our first race. Shockingly, the car is nearly done with a whole 3 weeks to finish up the odds and ends. It's a 944 but I think our theme should make up for our rather cheaty car. Either that, or you can laugh at us for the pile of penalty laps we accrue at BS. We're looking forward to meeting everyone. It looks like the practice session on Friday has a driver meeting before tech even opens. Is the Autobahn practice session totally separate from the actual Lemons event? I've already found the signup page for it. Just curious about the specifics and if it's worth it. Also, and I realize this is a stupid question, but do all of the drivers need to be there for that 8:30am meeting?

Every test and tune is run by the track, not Lemons. In the case of Autobahn, you need one competent person there and preferably the car. That competent guy explains the rules to the rest of the team and goes through Autobahn's "tech".
Is it worth it...very much so if you have never been to the track and/or you have not done any shakedown runs on the street.
No one that has been racing in Lemons for a while is worried about you 944 sweeping the field. You will likely be fast but stuff will break and it will take you ten times longer to fix than some guy in an Escort.
