Where in the Santa Rosa area was this? I've seen interesting iron up there (just today I saw an old Rambler Ambassador on highway 12) but never anything as spectacularly awesome as a Traction Avant.
There was a gorgeous black one on last year's California Melee. I think they'd make pretty awesome rally and tour cars if you could find a way to use a DS21's larger motor and four-speed gearbox.
The Tractions have weak drive trains. They would not be race worthy. But they would be cool cars to fix up and drive.

Drivetrain swap, anyonne?
Be great with a French gangster theme.....there was once a gang that was named Traction Avant (Marseilles, I think) because they used them for bank job getaways...

Hmm Audi 1.8t setup should work with that... Damn, I wish.... too many cars..... too little garage! I'd trade my just built Lexus for one though!
I also recall the rear suspension is hydraulic like the DS 21.. I have not worked on one in about 14 years.
If some one get a Citroen SM let me know I had one of them as a DD for 3 years.
