Re: CMP - Spring 2017 - Tunachuckers Recap

Great write up. Gotta love loose tolerance Detroit big blocks. The misadjusted kickdown in the Bluesmobile meant it stayed locked in 3rd its last race, and just effortlessly torqued itself around the track. Until the 727 tailshaft housing blew in exactly the same spot.

When will we see the return of the LTD? I may have to drag the C-body down south for a 440 vs 460 shootout.

This needs to happen.  I email correspond with a guy out in Texas who is constantly ragging on the 460 (he calls it a "junk" motor) and claims his 440 will wipe the floor with it.  I counter that the 440 is indeed a great engine, but we were able to build ours on a LeMonny budget, whereas he has over $3000 into his engine.

Anyway, I think we ought to drag race.  For pinks.  B-)

Thanks!  It was a lot more fun writing it than living it.  ;-)
