Topic: F40 crash @ NOLA

If anyone has video of the F40 crash at NOLA please share it if possible.

We’ve gathered that the PS rear LCA broke causing the rear suspension to collapse,which  then caused the rear wheel to break loose and hit the  rear deck lid,... causing it to fly completely over the top of the  car and smashing     into the windshield.  The aftermath  was that the F40’s  fiberglass body panels  exploded like a piñata.

Wow, that sucks. Weren't you having issues last year with suspension stuff? Or am I remembering something else?

No chance you can rebuild it? Just too much gone from the fiberglass?

We did have suspension issues last year. Both the front aftermarket steering knuckles broke last year (DS on Saturday & PS on Sunday). We managed to rebuild both and finished the race last year.  (Ironically, the company who made those aftermarket parts closed their doors.)

Unfortunately, the rear suspension bump-steer which broke this time was also made by that same company.

It appears that a heim joint on the PS rear lower control arm broke off during the race. This resulted in the rear suspension collapse, which put the car into a hard spin of the track.

I don't think any Irony was involved with them being screamingly incompetent.

What was the company?  Others who've bought parts from them might want to swap them out sooner rather than later.

I hope you can somehow piece this thing back together.  Fiberglass is probably the easiest thing to repair, if you have enough of the pieces.  I loved this thing from afar.  If all else fails, for a mere $17,139, you can always buy this replacement:

I was wondering how all that happened. Very sorry to hear the damage is so bad. I'd also love to see the car come back, but I can definitely understand if y'all are done with it at this point.
