Topic: Any teams need garage/workshop space near downtown San Marcos, TX?
My parents and I were chatting this afternoon and we have some property just off I35 in San Marcos, TX. I think its a few lJust behind a vacant mini-strip mall on the property is a 1600 sq foot garage space. A mechanic worked out of the shop for several years but we've left it vacant for a while. Obviously, there's electricity hookup but I believe there's also a small bathroom on site as well.
I know land is pretty plentiful in TX but if one of you folks might be looking for a place to wrench on your crapcan away from your significant others and live close enough to San Marcos, TX for this to be an appealing offer, LMK. I know other teams have looked for space here so I wanted to make an offer.
Our goal is not to get market rate for rent; honestly, we are looking for someone who will be onsite fairly regularly (i.e.: we aren't looking for someone who will pay us just for the right to store garbage/dead bodies/whatever), run off any vagrants who might want to camp there, and mow the small strip of grass in front of the property to keep the city off our backs. In exchange, you'd get a pretty large garage area away from the eyes of your wife/husband who might question your investment of time/money in your racing. While we don't care if you run a business out of this shop (it's zoned commercial after all), our goal is to find someone who would look at this as an entertainment expense first. In other words, I don't want to have to chase after someone to get whatever nominal amount of rent paid because "business was slow this month."
Personally, I'd love to use this shop for myself BUT considering my crapcan is 1800mi away, that's not entirely feasible.
Use this website to drop me an email if you are interested and I'll have my family dig up pictures and/or just send you the address so you can check it out yourself.
PS. I'm not here to subsidize any grow or fish farming operations. All utilities will be on you and we'd have you sign a formal lease and all that.
Here are some pics of the garage I'm offering. As you can see, its your garden variety commercial garage space. The door could use some paint.
