Re: Themes you'd like to see done
My favorite movies were (and still are) Savage Steve Holland's "Better Off Dead" and "One Crazy Summer." Those are both full of thematic possibilities.

Also, if you're stuck...look up the Super Bowl ads for your car's model year. Probably something in there somewhere.

"Better off Dead" more so than the other in infineately quoteable like "Airplane" and "Princess Bride" so you have plenty of banter to use in BS inspection and the visits to the peanalty box.
Not surprisingly, my first race with an actual semblance of a team was a "Princess Bride" theme mainly so I could walk around in the paddock in costume, drunk (after track cold) yealling "My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die". Saddly mechanical malidies limitted paddock trolling and not surprisingly, Road America in November was a tad chilly for a $25 costume.

... inconceivable ...
It occurred to me this morning that we went through all of 2021 without a Sealab: 2021 theme and that's hugely disappointing. But it's not too late for a Sealab: 2022 reboot.

That was going to be done by Pod 6, but as it turns out, Pod 6 was jerks!

After the judges were completely oblivious to a damn near perfect Venture Brothers Monarch Henchmen Stanza (It was Powder blue, mostly.), we all just assume you don't get anything that isn't either 70's and 80's poisonous nostalga, memes, or insider autojournalist Ephemera.
I mean I had two Murph-mobiles on the line and a plan to rework the Thunderbirds costumes to Sealab one was even a proper tiller drive cushman. But, I couldn't get anyone on board because themes weren't getting any coverage.

You can't just paint a car. One of you had to be wearing a "Pork Chop Sandwiches" T Shirt, at least one person in a henchman costume. Someone dressed in a Jackie O outfit with a gruff voice and a David Bowie. I mean sell it dude.
Themes aren't just paint schemes.
A Murph mobile? That's selling it! Get a Chopper Dave in there and you can probably actually hire mc chris these days....
Themes R hard

The team was all in full Monarch Hench regalia, glorious yellow and black wings, the whole deal. Even had a Monarch accurate tangerine mac book to show one of the sizzle reels to educate the judges. That nobody even knows about it is pretty damning proof.
These were they;
It was the same race my team did a full Thunderbird 2 theme with costumes and a fancy bribe/"International Rescue emergency ration kit" full of rum snacks and calorie mate,
oh and this car:
I know what a good theme should look like.

There is a whole lot of winning in this post.
The wing might still be up for grabs if someone wants it, I can check if Ratdoggy still has it or chucked it. It's way overbuilt. Gravimetric downforce.

I thought it a great theme. we even dressed as the puppets...What do I know?

Culturally? A lot more than the Judges.
Well, then I expect to see a Pinnacle of Lemons Culture theme from you or you'll be thrown in A.
Oh we don't care about being in A, we aren't trying to win silly.
I lead a sheltered life and often miss the point of themes... especially Judge Phil stuff... LOL
Has there been a decent Trunk Monkey theme done in Lemons? Asking for a friend...

There were a couple a long time ago, but that's always a good one.
Watched the Austin Powers 'Goldmember' movie last night. The VW New Beetle with the 1960s psychedelic paint job. Has it been done? It's very hot, for here at least, 95 degrees, stuck inside with the air conditioner on and not much to do but ponder such things.
Nick and I talk about the Fighting Baseball NES game rosters pretty frequently. There's a Karl Dandleton Toynda Dealership theme out there waiting for you. Or if you race a pickup, it just becomes MIKE TRUK.
https://www.avclub.com/check-out-these- … 1819219155
Has anyone seen Mike Truk?
Had anyone done a spin on "Snakes on a plane"? Would be cool to see Something fishing related would be cool too(i.e full on Jaws maybe? Or something like Grumpy old man. Costumes probably super easy to make at any outdoor sports store in Texas. Can probably get a shark attached to the back part of the car )
Sponsorship opportunity.
Just gonna bump this for when the Dickass guys are ready to make a change.

Nobody wants to see that theme.
