Topic: [SOLD] 1975 BMW 2002 - Race Car Project - SAN LUIS OBISPO county CA
Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening. I totally thought I could build up a Lemons car basically by myself and I found this Toot for sale on craigslist. I got it home, put some gas in the carb to see if it runs and surprise surprise it actually fired right up and idled for a few seconds before draining the bowl, huzzah! I was full of enthusiasm and ready to get started on this new project! Then the car sat for like a year or two. I realize I'm never going to be able to get to it because all of my other cars keep breaking. So here it is for sale.
Bullet points:
- Runs! Has all its fluids and they looked good 2 years ago.
- Has a roll cage! However it will need to be modified for Lemons rules, namely it needs door bars and a Lemons judge told me that he would strongly prefer for the front floor braces to run straight at an angle rather than curving. It will also need no spreader plates for said braces.
- Yes, the goofy ahh previous owners cut the roof off to install the roll cage. It'll need to be secured for transit. You can weld it back on, or just throw it away, I'm not your mom.
- I don't have the doors or any door skins. You'll have to find/fab your own.
- Hood and trunk aren't affixed and don't have hinges. Hood pins are cool anyways!
- Slightly rusty. Little cancer, just a bit in the floorboard corners, maybe a smidge in the trunk, but quite a bit of surface rust.
- comes with several spare wheels.
- No clutch engagement, no foot brake engagement (parking brake works ok) and the shifter bushings are long gone, this is not drivable as is.
I CAN DELIVER ANYWHERE IN SLO COUNTY FOR FREE OR UP TO 300 MILES OUT (LA/San Francisco/Bakersfield/Kern County) FOR UP TO $300 BASED ON DISTANCE!
I'm asking $1200, but feel free to treat that like the asking price on craigslist or whatever, since we all know how it goes.
