Topic: **PRICE DROP ** 2007 Lexus GS350, "Christine" / SF Bay Area / $500 OBO

**EDIT -- PRICE DROP, NEGOTIABLE FOR LEMON RACERS!

Hello Lemoneers. Christine, my wife's cherished red Lexus sedan, is finally ready for retirement.

We had planned to junk her with the state's cash-for-clunkers program for $1,000, but a friend told us about Lemons, and now my wife and I REALLY want to see someone race her! We can't afford to pay for the mods to make her race-ready ourselves, but she is drivable as-is and you could easily recoup the extra $500 by selling the stereo or other components.

We would love to join a Lemons team and give Christine the Viking funeral she deserves.

Bump to note price drop. We really want to see her race and will  make it happen but she needs to go more or less ASAP.

Just curious.. why isn't this selling on marketplace? It seems like a good running Lexus should be worth $1k all day.

It is -- I've been inundated -- but wife wants to sell her to a racer for sentimental reasons. smile

Re: **PRICE DROP ** 2007 Lexus GS350, "Christine" / SF Bay Area / $500 OBO

It's not precisely what you're after in a buyer, but I have a 02 Camry I run (the one dressed up as a Daewoo) and based on my reading of the interwebs that motor will bolt up to my transmission, and I suspect the brakes and some other bits will fit too.
I'm sure mounts and some of the wiring will be an adventure, but going from 160hp to 300ish seems worth it.

If you want Christine to race as a whole I'm the wrong guy, but if Christine supplying "TOTAL DOMINATION" levels of power to a 200k mile silver Camry manual works for you and your wife, I'm interested. No worries if Christine being an engine donor isn't what you're after though!

I'll be at Sonoma come December if you want to stop by and meet the car Christine's parts would be going into.

@Graph Sorry to highjack the thread and kill a potential sale...

@Bobnova The GS and Camry are NOT the same platform and you'd face an uphill battle getting the drivetrain and/or suspension to swap between the two.

If the ad was for a Lexus ES, you'd be in business (same platform as the Camry). The ES/Camry is FWD/transverse engine. The GS is RWD/longitudinal engine.

If you're up for the fab work to do the swap, I say "go forth and DOMINATE!" smile

Ooohhhhhhhh well now that's good to know.

Thank you for the heads up! My fab skills aren't horrible (close though) but they aren't up to making a RWD Camry lol. I've dreamed about it for a couple years now via the cut-the-back-seat-out method but that's waaaaay over my head.

Sorry Graph, I do hope that Christine makes it into Racecar form! It won't be me though.
