Topic: Sears Pointless - Thanks from Team Gone in 60 Laps

As first time Lemons racers the weekend couldn't have gone better.  After reading weather reports the days leading up telling of 90% downpours Friday with things tapering off by Sunday the weather ended up being perfect.  We made it through tech with zero problems (working tech twice last year helped drill into our heads where people screw up and not to do the same) and then made it to BS.  Our couch made from the back seat of a Citroen DS (along with a case of home made ale and stout) was well received and used heavily throughout the weekend.  It will make another appearance at the August Thunderhill race.  We will see how we can improve  it for the next time around.  As for the car we had all of our problems at the beginning of Saturday.  Who knew the radiator of a car bought from a guy selling it for his crack dealing friend in jail (the street value of the crack pipe was deducted from the purchase price) would be plugged and not want to cool?  Overheating problems fixed the car ran like an oil burning rocket.  With the exception of our most excitable driver making a foray into the grass on his 3rd lap ever, resulting in the removal of the crappy Escort's left rear door, and my spin in turn 11 after brain fade in my first 1.5 hr stint we did not have the pleasure of visiting Jonny, Phil and Co. the rest of the weekend.  We did what we said in our application, go round and around and around and that resulted in moving up from 133rd mid Saturday to 85th at the end of the excitement Sunday.  We couldn't be happier!  We were pitted next to the awesome Team of Dr. No (thanks for the use of your bucket for the coolant draining exercises and I hope the gasket sealer did the trick) and had a great old time meeting the rubber ducky Mustang folks.  Black and Yellow Mustangs need to stick together!

Thanks to Jay, Nick and the rest of the Lemons staff for another perfectly executed race!

Thanks to the awesome track crew of Infineon!  Getting a lump of coal from Santa at Pit In was terrific.

Our thoughts are with Tyler for a speedy recovery and an even speedier Cavalier.

Congrats to the Wienermobile!  You guys were fast and hilarious.  You can't get mad racing wheel to wheel with a giant hotdog lap after lap.

Congrats to Air Prance!!  2-time IOE winners extraordinaire!! It was great to see the DS turning lap after lap on Sunday!  You definitely put a smile on the crowd's face.  Here's to living life to the fullest!

Well done to Eyesore for your 3rd win.  I think you need to go for IOE now with an RX3 or something even more awesome like.... http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/1635026875.html

Receiving "congratulations" and "well dones" from veteran Lemons racers for how cleanly we raced was an honor.  We just wanted to be a part of the fun and not ruin anyone's day and I think we did that.
