Topic: Numbers on car question

Do the numbers have to be the same color?

Our color scheme is looking like it would work well to have a half and half circle for our numbers. Of course, for maximum contrast, this would mean that we would have the numbers in opposite colors.

Is this legal, or should we reconfigure the masking tape?

Re: Numbers on car question

I would think visibility is the most important part, but I guess it could get a bit confusing too.

Re: Numbers on car question

The rules state that the numbers must be white on black or black on white.  You can ask Nick for an exemption and he will likely agree as long as the numbers are a contrasting color to the background.  I got an exemption for our hood numbers which are white on red.

Re: Numbers on car question

I haven't seen them say much about the numbers as long as they are easy to read.  I've seen them in every color.  At the last race we just spray painted ours in black onto the cardboard that was mounted to our door.
