that sounds like it is barley broken in then.  I think I am stuck on a 108, they are about the sexiest MB of that era, other than a low grill coupe.  Not that big on running a diesel, heck on GMC dually is even a gas motor (8.1).

I need to hit up the guys with the 300ce and see how they made it work.  Part of this is just the adventure of seeing what will work and charting new ground.  There is a 64 190 sitting under a tree in Bryan, it would look sweet chopped and converted to a coupe ....

The Merc guys just ran both their cars at the Chump event. They are posting over on that forum about the cars and race. If you need to reach out to them.

It's a great daily driver. Don't get the V12 - get the V8 - way less problems.

Yes, in particular the V-12. There is a reason we spent about 30 hours replacing various wires under the hood before we could get our Lemon S600 running ok. We did it all in green wire too in proper Lemons fashion.

The V-8 cars are not so bad.

i have been looking around, seems the 450sl is the way to go.  there are even some on eBay.  Guess I need to start looking over junkyards.  Oh, and I need to find a candidate.  February will be here before I know it.

Hey Jackasic, I have helped build 3 M-B racers.
You might need to look at the $$$ involved in that airride, had one and broke me when they went bad.
Look for a car with springs, or try to change out to springs.
Looks like fun, but a lil more work than I am up for.

yeah, air ride would be nice, but it is more just an idea, not too practical.  I was just going to swap in ,y springs from 108.  Picked up a 67 200 with a manual, that will probably be my first attempt because it is simple.
