Topic: so i wanna take my lemon to the dirt in tx, anyone else?

so i've realized if you approach a promoter with a class of cars with a field , they may just let you run in their program...


anyone else wanna take their lemon to some dirttrack action somewhere in  east central texas(read: between i-35/ louisiana, and houston/dallas)?

Would we be able to use our Lemons tires on dirt tracks or would we need to switch to slicks? We wouldn't want to tear up the track with grooved tires. But I think this would be a ton of fun.

im gonna call some track owner/promoters next week.  we need to sucker some more teams into this so we have at least 10+ cars to try to create the opportunity, then it should be pretty easy to get them to let a all-lemon heat/feature go on,which would be rad.

im looking into tires stuff but you dont wanna run anything were running from my understanding

who else may be in on this shennanigan?

I've run 4-cyl dirt track cars.  No problem on street tires.  Most tracks do not allow any glass in the car so the Front Windshield and all lights would have to be removed which is a pain.  Other than that I would love to take the car down to East TX one weekend and run especially if I didn't have to remove the front windshield..

Have you tried Gator Motor Speedway between Houston and Dallas?  That would be a BLAST.

The #25 speed racer mustang in Houston would be up for local races if glass can stay in windshield.  There is a very small dirt track with bombers in Alvin, or there used to be...

My neighbor has a buddy who races claimer dirt bombers, and he said he just toodles around the track and the other guys go fast and then crash or loop out, and he usually places top 5 and gets $ to make it go for him.
