I won't be up at the shop this weekend, but I will be there the next two Saturdays.
That could be considered a threat or a promise, depending on how you want to take it.
then you'll be there when we crank it.........
i was trying to figure out how to get the radiator hose from the back of the engine to the front. this is what i came up with. the tube is a pc. off an old tv antenna....
that tube was just laying around doing nothing. i love free parts!

like it was always meant for that purpose.
Looks like things are coming right long there.....
our first attempt at building a cage from scratch. so far, it's gone together nicely. all that's left is the door bars, down tube, and strap bar.
thankfully. i've been welding (or cutting) on Lemons cars since Christmas......
And what's behind the door actually runs.....
And it sounds pretty good too ( I was holding the throttle on that magical first run )
Well, it was a long build. Add in the renault and the lincoln, and both tom and I are done. We got back to the shop with the intention of loading another bullet and returning to the race, after an hour or so of rest. Didn't think it would be a good idea to try working on the car with my head spinning, and tom is in worse shape.
Dave. Tillman. Zack. These 3 are the type of team guys anybody would want. Their help and energy pushed us thru to the finish.
Thanks guys......
The thing sounded badass and looked like it hooked up great. Too bad the motor turned out to be a dud.
Blue Oval Cult won the Best Worst Yank Tank at the Hooptie. Joe (center) and Tom (not pictured) did a hella job, and I have no doubt it will be a contender in the future.
Dave (Ignorante West) on the right and Tillman (me!) on the left were happy to have a hand in it as helper monkeys.
That's a cool swap!!! I gotta ask, what tranny fits on the back of that to make it RWD? That's a pretty cool swap.

We found a ranger 5 speed on cg. Had to do a little surgery on the housing with a rotary cutter. And it bolted on. Now if only the motor had held together......
That simple?!
Yup. You have to use the ranger hyd. Type clutch. It works with the sho flywheel nicely. The clutch master we used is out of a crushed integra. We had wheel hop in 1st, 2nd and 3rd when we tested it in front of the shop, so no slip in the clutchdept. Had a lot of slip in the rod dept about 2 hours later. .....
So now we tear it down and find out why, fix or replace as needed, and get ready for houston
I must say I was surprised at the interest in the car. And thanks to all for the kind words and encouragement.
Hey Joe, how did the radio setup work during the brief stint?
