But maybe not

So by this rationale if you show up with a Crosley Hotshot you can power it with a PT6A and you're golden....

Yes, aircraft-engine-powered Crosleys are exempt from BS Inspection rules.

So a clarification:  Does the Corvair engine qualify as an aircraft engine?  Plenty are flying around, see http://www.flycorvair.com/

Re: Judging/Rule clarification (sorta tongue-in-cheek)

Plenty of rotaries in planes too though, I don't see it happening.

Re: Judging/Rule clarification (sorta tongue-in-cheek)

It has to start life as an aircraft engine. So a Tucker would be good.

Yee-Haw 2010 "Most Heroic Fix" & "I Got Screwed" -2 trophies for 1 lap, but I took checkered on my lap.
Gator-O-Rama 2012 "Organizers Choice" -2 laps 1 trophy, but i still finished ahead of an E30
Yee-Haw 2013 No trophy -26 laps, I think I see a pattern here
Gator-O-Rama 2014 "Waiting for the Last Minute Call from the Governor Award" -who's counting? John

And didn't Checker use Continental engines back in the day?

Re: Judging/Rule clarification (sorta tongue-in-cheek)

Checker and Willys and others used continental, but AFAIK, they were liquid cooled cast-iron road engine, not air cooled GTSIO550's.

Though a person could still try that logic on the honorable judges.  I say go for it!
