Topic: Helmet Help

Hey Everyone,
Me and some friends are going to be participating in the Carolina race next weekend, it's my first time racing. We got our own suits and we already had a helmet that we were planning to share but, as it turns out, my head is bigger than everyone else's and the helmet we have won't fit me.

You would think that me having such a big head would make me smart enough to have considered this possibility earlier, but you'd be wrong. I'm here to ask if any of you happen to have a large or XL helmet you can lend/rent to me for this race. Or maybe some info on where I might be able to rent one.

Thanks in advance.

*edit* Changed helmet size, my hat size is 7 5/8, some sizing charts call it L some call it XL.

One of our drivers at Summit went this way and had pretty good results.

Re: Helmet Help

I used racesuitrental.com for my helmet just last weekend and it was great. Also, here is a place where you can buy a SA2005 helmet for $169.99. I have never bought from this company before, but it seams all on the up and up.  http://www.racedaysafety.com/zamp-fsa2- … 22005.html

Re: Helmet Help

I'm checking the site out now, still if anyone has a spare one I can rent/borrow I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for the info.

Re: Helmet Help

I am all about helping a fellow racer, but my helmet is one thing I would never lend out. Besides the skanky sweat factor, helmets need to be taken care, if they are dropped on a hard surface they should be replaced, ect. I don't let mine out my sight. Try the rental palce it is your best bet.

X2.  I've had people ask before for ride-alongs at HPDEs and I always politely decline.

Of all of the stuff you should own, a helmet is something you must own.  Overnight shipping is your friend.
