[This may actually be the Yoda of Yugos, Dave Benton. He moved out to AZ a couple of years ago from NJ. If he massaged that motor it will be fast and reliable.
Well... he did say his name was "Dave" so I think it's probably him. He seems to know EVERYTHING about the car.
I totally need this car
big d to phoenix - 1065 miles one way / 16 hours
What happened to this thread? What happened to Yugos?
This is the 24 Hours of Lemons. There should be a sea of Yugos.
I don't think there are enough around to assemble even a pond of Yugos.
much less a puddle. hehe. i drive the flipped yugo in the reno race, did 5 laps and quit before i was killed, it was honestly the worst driving and shifting car ever.
however I did own a very nice example of a '87 GV, here is the articles that Phil wrote on it.

i cut three front coils and lowered the rear and installed a narrowed Miata rear sway bar, then a set of 205 RA1s on the 13'' rims. man it handled. a 2 1/4" exhaust realy pepped the 1100cc to 64 whp.
i really regret selling that car, and i intend on building a proper race car out of one someday
Do something cheap AND unique....put duallies on the rear. Easy to do widens footprint of said Yugo, acts like training wheels. This could be an award winning combo !
P.S is this the white yugo out by the garage at Nelson ?
Did somebody say widen the footprint of a Yugo?
Even Wider ! (not to be confused with easy wider)
Again, the Internets Delivers.....
And if you can find a junked X1/9 you get the front struts and everything you need to make it twin engined with the X engine and transaxle in the rear
TWO YUGO FRONT ENDS WELDED TOGETHER TO MAKE A FUN FUNNY CAR. GREAT FOR PARADE OR JUST SHOWING IT OFF. BOTH ENGINES RAN THE LAST TIME I DROVE IT LAST YEAR. CALL IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS . 208-707-1315 I WOULD TRADE FOR AN OLDER PICK-UP THAT RUNS GOOD.

Sort out the dual steering, run one engine till she blows then fire up #2. Instant Win! How can you lose?
