The 24 Hours of Lemons Forums → Bench Racing → Miami Helmet Requirement
I'm looking for confirmation that a SA2000 helmet will still be okay for the Miami event. Seeing that the event is still part of the 2010 schedule, I would believe it will still follow the 2010 rules where a SA2000 was legal.
I did recently purchase a SA2010 helmet, however the size was incorrect and I needed to return it. Not sure if the correct size will be back in time for the race or not.
Yeah, the Miami race will be under the 2010 rules. The new rules don't go into effect until 1/1/11.
However, the race ends on 1/1/11, in which your helmet will then be illegal.
You will be DQ'd immediately...

It's easy! Just make sure that the driver doing the final stint to the checkers has a 2005+ helmet. Otherwise his helmet will turn into a pumpkin at midnight.

and now you know there's at least 3 teams thinking of having a pumpkin all ready to go in the car ....
