Topic: looking for tires for Intermeccanica speedster

looking to FINALLY get a set of tires for the Intermeccanica speedster and they currently have some old Pirelli 165SR15s.  Any suggestion of where to get a new set of similarly sized shoes for my project car hell?

Sounds like stock VW bug tires.  Nankang seems to be the tire of choice (or only one available) in that particular size. 

I just put a set on my dads bug, they are ok tires, not anything sporting though.

Those are like my bottom end choice. Vredestein has some for ~$105ea and then there are Michelin xzx if I want to go nuts at ~$185 ea (which I don't). We'll what other suggestions,maybe in a slightly different size, folks have.

Check out some of the VW site (thesamba.com) to see what others are running.  I think you can bump up to a 195 and get better choices.

There is good availability of 175/65R15 now, thanks to the Mini.  It is a good retrofit for old saab, VW, porsche, etc that originally had 155 or 165R15.  The reduced sidewall is better for handling, at a slight cruise RPM penalty.
