Topic: Portland Lemons Drivers

Driving to Reno this year we bumped into the Size Matters Fury team at a truck stop just outside Portland.  Turns out they are from Portland, and I didn't know.  Fail.

I'm looking for all of the Portland teams!  I know I've met some of you guys before but I'd like to made an effort to know everyone that is in our general area.  Maybe even start a local email chain or something, do some work weekends before a race?

So, I know rocketresto is part of the Size Matters crew, right?  And I know the pontihack guys are from portland, but don't even know if they're represented on the forums.  Beyond that, my memory fails me.

So guys, give yourselves a shout out and pm or post here an email and I'll start emailing around.

Re: Portland Lemons Drivers

We are actually from Olympia, WA, but not too far north of Portland.  Just remember, Size Does Matter.

I agree, that's why we race an MR2 with the front cut off smile

Re: Portland Lemons Drivers

Hey,
You have coil over suspension on the MR2 correct?  I have heard about your car.
Cheers,
Pedro

lol we're luck we have suspension at all smile  No, it's a stock-type strut setup.  We  got lucky and the car came with ebay 'performance' struts and springs, was an sometimes-autox car before it got smashed into a wall.  it was nothing a sawzall to the springs and some custom (i.e. homemade hacked) strut tops couldn't fix!

The Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys are from the Seattle area.  Our faithful steed, Pujo!, is lowering the property value of a Kent industrial area even as we speak.

Re: Portland Lemons Drivers

We have a new tool that spits out the team, car, and hometown for every race. We'll make that available to facilitate more local connections--we just need to figure out the right timing since the first few weeks after acceptances go out see a lot of flux in the field. I think Murilee already posted this, but here's the Buttonwillow field (there have already been some changes--ie no Duster):
