Topic: Radio Question VHF Wattage Range at CMP
Will a 3 watt VHF radio cover the track at CMP? After reading some posts about radios here, I think I want to get a couple of cheap 2 watt VHF radios like this:

If you look at the track map the furthest the car will be from the pits is maybe 1/2 mile at the most. 2 cans and string would even work well at CMP.

CMP is all pretty much line of sight, so VHF will be fine (other than interference from other teams on/near your frequency, that is).
