Wow.. I think we win (lose)... we are like 11-12gph at gingerman in the lex, but we drive the pi$$ out of it, and it runs rich for some reason.
Car: 97 Pontiac GTP
Engine: 3.8l V6 Supercharged, 240hp, stock 4 speed auto.
Course: CMP
GPH: 5
Capacity: 18gal
Best Endurance: 2 Hours, we normally do hour stints so everyone gets a turn.
Notes: I think we're one of the few teams who has to run 93 octane, which really sucks when that station outside the track keeps raising prices as the weekend goes on.

how can best endurance be 2 hrs at 5gph? it would be 9gph
PS, we have to run premium also...

What I meant was that's the longest we've had the car out there without stopping, that's why I said we normally just do 1 hour stints. Everytime we pit we have to add one 5 gallon jug to top the tank off.

Everytime we pit we have to add one 5 gallon jug to top the tank off.
Why not fuel every other stop and save time?
Car: '89 Camaro

Course: Sears/Thunderhill/Buttonwillow

24-hour at Buttonwillow will be expensive....

That's a good point. But by the same token, only once were we a contender for anything and broken wheel studs took care of that for us. We've always been more about just having fun instead of trying to be as quick as possible in all areas.

Mark VIII used as much as 10GPH.
X-90 used as little as 4.5 GPH.
The Donk at Stafford, cruising along in drive, managed to go almost 4 hours with me at the helm on a single stock (20+ gallon) tank, and still had a little left. V8 doesn't automatically mean thirsty.

Cordia = 8 Gal - Three hours. 2:48 average lap times... 1.8 turbo.
Notes: I think we're one of the few teams who has to run 93 octane, which really sucks when that station outside the track keeps raising prices as the weekend goes on.
We run 93 as well. We see boost anywhere from 2-12psi depending on engine in the car and number of boost leaks. Not risking detonation with cheap fuel.
Car: Ford Thunderbird (3,000LB ready to race)
Engine: 3.8L V6 @ 140HP.... 18 years ago
Capacity: 18gal
Course: Thunderhill track day w/ few cars (private day); going all out
GPH: 8.27GPH
* At least we can run regular.
* This is our personal high water mark for GPH consumption as all our Lemons races have way more traffic/yellows than this track day.
* Starts cutting out at <1/8th tank but our drivers usually only last ~2 hours so this hasn't been an issue.

iunno, I just throw 20 bucks in it every few days.

I was told by the guy who threw our gears in the rear end that "Gear whine is not a problem, then can do that forever"

We run about 6 gph normally, and refuel every other driver swap. We run 1 hour each to give everyone equal chances to blow-up.
